The Cry of Arrakis
This is a multidisciplinary graphic design and illustration project that reinterprets the narrative of Dune through a rich blend of visual storytelling tools. Using illustration, custom typography(designed by Christin Kim), and motion graphics, the project decodes the film’s structural and thematic layers, focusing on the transformation of its protagonist and the mythology of Arrakis. The work was brought to life through a motion graphic video, a mini exhibition featuring a large-scale mural, original type design, and speculative prop design that imagines artifacts from the Dune universe. Together, these components form an immersive visual essay that transforms cinematic storytelling into a tactile, graphic experience.
